Published

on

Los Santos, San AndreasOn February 3rd, 2023, The Executive Cabinet voted that Governor Richard Starr was medically unable to serve as Governor. In House Resolution 169 – The Governor Boo Boo Act, the Cabinet can vote the Governor unfit to serve, which then transitions the power to the next in line of succession – in this case, Lieutenant Governor Adrian Jax.

Weazel News reached out to the Executive Branch for comment on the situation. On the night of the vote, three medical professionals deemed the Governor unable to serve due to his current medical state. Former state representative Oliver Hall used the Freedom of Information Act to gain further details about the situation; all eleven cabinet members in attendance voted AYE, invoking HR 169

State Attorney Liam McGrath took the official tally and recorded the vote, which can be seen below:

According to Acting Governor Jax, the situation which invoked HR 169 was Article II, Section I, Subsection III, which states that:

“In the event the Governor is declared unable to execute his/her duties by Cabinet assembled by reason of prolonged loss of consciousness or medical emergency, the Governor shall be immediately reinstated when they have regained consciousness and/or the medical emergency has ended.”

HR 169 was Article II, Section I, Subsection III

Acting Governor Jax stated that three licensed physicians, Surgeon General Lewis Knight, Attending Doctor Theodore Cassidy, and Senior Doctor Adrik Nelson, all agreed with the medical assessment that Governor Starr was medically unable to serve his role as Governor.

According to a press release issued by the executive on February 3rd, Governor Starr was injured by a group known as “The Whisperers,” which specially targets government employees and officials. The executive cautions the public to be careful of their surroundings with this group. According to the release, “The Whisperers” members wear all black and a “sewn up” face mask.

As stated before in our previous coverage, the executive urges anyone with information about the Whisperers to contact the Major Crimes Division by submitting a tip online

As of this article, Governor Starr has no publicly released medical status. Stay tuned to Weazel News for updates on this developing story.
