Mirror Park HOA Puts Local Mechanic Shop on Blocks

MIRROR PARK – The Mirror Park mechanic garage, now named Kansei Speed Shop, may know how to lift a car, but according to local Mirror Park HOA President Larry Tate, it has failed to lift community spirits.

In an exclusive interview with Weazel News, Tate confirmed the HOA has officially hit the brakes on the neighborhood garage, declaring it closed “indefinitely” until several concerns are addressed. Among them: ownership, management, mechanic training, and customer complaints.

Tate, who confirmed the HOA currently consists of himself and himself alone, said the organization was formed around 2021 to protect the character and charm of Mirror Park, as well as support local residents and businesses.

When asked how he was appointed to the HOA board, Tate offered a civic process as old as time.

The current dispute centers around the Mirror Park mechanic garage, which has not exactly meshed smoothly into the neighborhood. According to Tate, he originally visited the business to welcome its owners and even offered financial support with DoCL-related fees, but “[…] the HOA was met with a lot of attitude,” Tate said. “We support businesses here. But when we’re met by people that have no respect for the other businesses in the park, and they start trespassing the public left, right, and center just for existing, at that point, that’s when you find a different place to operate.”

Tate says multiple Mirror Park residents have reported poor service at the garage, including one resident who allegedly brought in a vehicle for engine trouble and left with a missing catalytic converter.

“There’s a lot of noise down there as well, […] I don’t know where they learned how to work on cars, but I’m pretty sure you don’t use hammers to fix engines.”

The HOA president also claims that he and several other Mirror Park residents were trespassed from the property without explanation. Tate says he was trespassed from the garage when he was met by heavy police presence and was threatened “to be arrested upon stepping onto the garage property.”

The mechanic shop controversy also appears tied to deeper neighborhood history. Tate spoke about the loss of Ronnie’s, a former motorcycle-focused repair shop in Mirror Park that he said carried major personal and community importance. According to Tate, Ronnie’s was lost after DoCL declined to transfer the business to the people who had helped operate it for years.

When asked what the Kansei Speed Shop would need to do to return to HOA compliance, Tate suggested it’s too late for an apology letter or quieter wrench. His answer was simple: new owners.

“First of all, it needs a change in ownership,” Tate said. “The mechanic shop should go back into the hands of residents of Mirror Park.”

Tate also called for management changes and better mechanic training, saying the shop needs people who can bring vehicles “up to safety standards” instead of allegedly sending them home lighter than when they arrived. For frustrated residents now forced to drive outside Mirror Park for repairs, Tate indicated the HOA, as well as the People’s Republic of Mirror Park, is actively working together on a resolution.

“I can promise that these people that own this mechanic shop won’t be there for long. […] The mechanic shop in Mirror Park will be closed indefinitely until these issues are solved.”

Weazel News has reached out to Kansei Speed Shop for comment regarding the HOA’s allegations and the ongoing dispute. Daigo Kimura, responding on behalf of the business, declined to address the claims. “We can sadly not comment in regards to the ongoings at Kansei Speed Shop,” Kimura said.

Until then, the garage remains stuck in neutral.

What hasn’t been mentioned here was the Mirror Park “HOA” harassing customers going to the shop with threats of physical violence or that they have attempted to strong-arm themselves into ownership of the garage. I’m not happy living in the park anymore with what they’ve been doing and it isn’t the first business they’ve threatened. If Black Lotus can’t have a part of something, they destroy it.

  Now THAT is a mirror park staple. Joel’s Pump n Dump. The best AND ONLY full service gas station in the entire state. Always polite and always servicing. Maybe they should open a mech shop there and put these guys out of business.

I went to this place a couple weeks ago with my Bison Hellfire to get it worked on. They said they’d need to hold it overnight for a replacement part, got it back the next morning and it sounds like a fuckin hot wheels car, fucked up my turbo, intake.. everything. It sounds awful now.

Funny how the HOA isn’t a thing, so what else in this article is false…. oh yeah 90% of it. Imagine being so low in life you need a news outlet to help you. Shame Weazel news don’t want to report on the truth.

  So blaming the news outlet for “not reporting the truth” feels a bit backwards when the business was given the chance to respond and chose not to. If Kansei has a side to share, I think a lot of us in Mirror Park would like to hear it.

This is actually insane. The biggest thing that he decided to leave out happened right as I flew back in from a vacation. So because you simply feel the need to have a job in a district that you think you own, you throw a temper tantrum and plaster lies on the news, wasting their time, just because you got denied the job… That’s not really a good look for you or your people, did they know this as well or????
Oh and you up and decided that Kansei will be closed indefinitely because of some false rules you put in place. That definitely was just a threat to harm the business and get them reprimanded. Not going to work bud.
What will you guys do when there’s nothing left in Mirror Park and Black Lotus has ruined a part of Los Santos? It’s going that way.

Great article by the HOA, sorry, Weazel. I mainly love how they left out the part where they took one of the workers hostage and shot them inside the shop, leading to a shootout with cops in Mirror Park. Was this a propaganda piece or a news article? It’s hard to tell!

There are so many crazy comments on this article. I was reached out to by Weazel News to comment on this ongoing issue with this “mechanic shop”, and of course as a staple member of the Mirror Park HOA, which by the way does exist, and has for 5 years. WE HAVE LANYARDS. I had to speak up on the truth of this travesty of a mechanic business.

There are many wild accusations in the comments here, such as claiming the Mirror Park HOA kidnapped someone and shot them? That is diabolical. It is clear whoever the fuck are writing these comments are in fact not Mirror Park residents but individuals who think that owning a RH-7 makes them a mechanic.

Now to respond to this anonymous individual who writes in the same way in which the owners of Kansei talks (Yes, thats you Daigo Kimura / Rampt Bobton), maybe instead of wasting your time commenting here anonymously, let me make this clear, the Mirror Park HOA, and the Peoples Republic of Mirror Park have reported the truth, and nothing but the truth in this timeless piece of journalism.

Dont be upset just because your business stocks went into the ground, and that your business is plummeting. If youd like to sell and move on with your life ill give you a once in a lifetime offer so that we can bring the repair shop back into MirrorParkian hands.

Took my car to Kansei for a basic repair and somehow came back with a worse car, missing seats, and the strong suspicion that half the staff were hired after losing a bet.

Apparently “customer service” at Kansei means stealing your interior, creating brand-new mechanical problems, then staring at you like you’re the unreasonable one for wanting your car back in roughly the same number of pieces.

These people should not be allowed to operate heavy machinery. Frankly, I’d hesitate to let them near a shopping cart without supervision.

If Kansei ever starts offering “weight reduction packages,” just know that means your seats are about to disappear.

Absolute masterclass in incompetence. Five stars for turning a repair bill into a crime scene.
