VINEWOOD (WZ) — In a Vinewood court the long anticipated trial of Bevans Garvey proceeded today. After hours of testimonies, interruptions and sidebars the court has come to the conclusion that Bevans Garvey is not guilty of Animal Cruelty.

Today’s case by far was one of, if not, the most attended court case with a queue stretching around the lobby and out the door. There were not enough seats for everyone in order to sit, so some were left standing for the lengthy trial.

The Trial began not too long after 8pm, however, testimony after testimony continued the trial for almost four hours.

We heard testimonies from a wide range of people close and distant from the issue at hand, which was a bear that was being kept inside the Public Works Facility in South Los Santos. The state’s case led by the Attorney General alleged that the conditions the bear was being kept fit the definition of Animal Abuse. However, Mr. Garvey’s defense was successful, with the court finding him not guilty of the single charge of Animal Abuse.

The following is the court’s verdict from Associate Justice Jorge Paxton.

Examining all the facts, evidence and witness testimony, it is the opinion of thiscourt that Bevans Garvey did not INTENTIONALLY inflict EGREGIOUS harm upon these animals. The court certainly believes the conditions of the animals were less than optimal, however the court cannot in good faith convict Mr. Garvey when there is reasonabledoubt of both the intent, and the level of egregious pain endured.
With that in mind, the court finds Mr. Bevans Garvey NOT GUILTY of one count of animal cruelty.

After the verdict was handed by the court, a stabbing occurred next to the metal detectors as people were exiting the courtroom. Weazel News isn’t able to confirm if anyone had sustained injuries or who the assailant was. It’s understood police tased the person with the knife and gunshots were also heard. No motive is known at this time. We have contacted the Los Santos Police Department for more on the issue however we have not received a response.
