WEST VINEWOOD, LOS SANTOS – In the late evening of January 9th, a fire started at Bento in West Vinewood along Eclipse Boulevard. LS Diatribes was also on scene to report on this disaster. This marks the second major fire in San Andreas in less than a week’s time, with the previous fire being at the Mind Body and Soul Studio.

Members of San Andreas Fire Rescue (SAFR), law enforcement, and Public Works came together to secure the area. The Public Works Operator shared that the main shutoff for the Bento’s gas line was inside the building. With the building on fire, it was unsafe to go inside to turn off the gas line, leading to the safest option being turning off the gas line to the entire block. The gas line for the block has since been turned back on.

Weazel News requested an official response from SAFR on scene regarding the condition of Bento after this fire, but from what the public eye can see, all that is left is rubble and smoke. The Bento building has been destroyed by the fire. At the time of publishing, no official response has been received from SAFR.

The question on many minds is why this beloved restaurant was burnt down. Jackie Franchenzzo, the owner of Bento, shared with Weazel News that a man named James Kogul, who was a former employee at Bento, could be a possible suspect in the destruction. Franchenzzo communicated to Weazel News:

“Well, He was an employee for several months before due to Unhospitable behaviour he was let go. After various threats and assaults Bentos Formally Filled a restraining order against him, ever since then he’s put out Tweet after tweet threatining the Buisness.”

Others joined in on Y, asking why various groups, agencies, and former Presidents would do such a thing to Bento.

The news of the fire was devastating to many citizens, and several eyewitnesses shared their thoughts. “I used to come here all the time, and now it’s destroyed, I’m distraught, I’m in tears”, one former patron said. Another, in a similar manner, exclaimed, “This is the only good place to get this food”. And lastly, “it’s the last green tea mochi that survived, the last one in this city”.

Other than the fire, another hot topic was law enforcement on scene. The crowd talked amongst themselves about the LEOs having weapons in hand while the fire burned behind them. Some even took to Y to express their opinion on the police who were on the scene as they were pictured standing towards the crowd of bystanders, who were watching the flames.
