Rockford Hills, Los Santos – The City of Los Santos celebrates another milestone today as Deputy Chief Julie Lee of the Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) was officially sworn in as our new Chief of Police. The ceremony, held at City Hall, was attended by friends, fellow officers, community leaders, and a multitude of enthusiastic well-wishers who gathered to witness this remarkable moment.

The video above showcases the short but sweet event. Following is a brief summary of the ceremony.

At precisely 8 pm EST, the door at the rear of the courtroom swung open as the esteemed Chief Justice John MacLamar entered. The room quieted down as Commissioner Barry Hill called for everyone to rise in respect for the Chief Justice. He swiftly addressed the gathering, requesting them to be seated. All eyes were on Deputy Chief Lee as the Chief Justice commenced the swearing-in.

After a quick exchange between the pair, Deputy Chief Lee was asked how she’d like to be sworn in by Chief Justice MacLamar. Initially, Julie Lee opted for the affirmation. However, after taking a moment to think on it, she ultimately decided to take an oath instead. Repeating after the Chief Justice, she stated the oath, affirming her commitment to this new position. As soon as her last words were spoken, the room erupted with cheers. Encouraged by the crowd, she gathered her thoughts and delivered a small speech, causing the room to fall into an attentive silence.

“I’m deeply honored and privileged to stand before you as the newly appointed Chief of the Los Santos Police Department. My goal is to foster faith, trust, transparency, and collaboration between our offices and the community that we serve. Together we will prioritize accountability and build a safer Los Santos where every resident can live, work, and thrive. Thank you for placing your trust in me, and I look forward to embarking on this journey with all of you. Thank you for being here.”

The speech concluded with cheers erupting from the chamber once again. Excited police officers and friends “approached the bench” to congratulate Chief Lee. Everyone present was then invited to gather in front of City Hall for fireworks and photos.

Chief Julie Lee has assumed her role as Chief of Police for the LSPD, making history as the first woman to hold the position in the city of Los Santos.

Weazel News caught up with Governor RyRy who had the following to say about this momentous occasion:

“I have said everything I wanted to say to her in private. Go Dolphins.”

Following the swearing-in, Weazel News was able to speak with the former Chief of Police, Scott Spartan. After a notable tenure leading the LSPD, he’s decided to embark on a new chapter in his law enforcement career. He seemed to be eagerly looking forward to working with the US Marshals Service, and, with all likelihood, he will bring exceptional experience and expertise to that realm of law enforcement.
