The 7th Congress of the State of San Andreas was inaugurated last night, Saturday, May 13, 2023. It is composed of Jimmie Dimmick, Norman Wren, Morrigan Ford, Tavlar Frostfell, and Jon M. Chambers. The newly elected representatives wasted no time getting started and held their first meeting at City Hall right after the inauguration. During the meeting, they voted on their Speaker, Secretary, and Treasurer positions.

7th Congress Positions:

  • Norman Wren was chosen to be the Speaker of the Legislature
  • Jimmy Dimmick was chosen as the Treasurer of the Legislature
  • Morrigan Ford was chosen as the Secretary of the Legislature

The new legislature also discussed schedules for meetings and town halls. The State Representatives will meet every Saturday at 9 PM EST, and notes will be published as usual. Meeting summary notes for previous meetings can be found here.

Additionally, Town Halls will be held on the third Saturday of every month at 8 PM EST. The first Town Hall will be held on May 20th at 8 PM EST, so citizens can mark their calendars and make plans to attend. Recordings and information from previous Town Hall’s covered by Weazel News can be found here.

Norman Wren spoke with Weazel News to discuss the 7th Congress and their plans for this term. The newly elected Speaker of the Legislature is committed to holding everyone accountable regardless of who they are and their position. He plans to work alongside Damien Key to host Town Halls and monthly meetings with the cabinet to help keep communication channels open between the legislative and executive branches.

Additionally, the legislature reviewed their initial goals for the term. Topics covered included the San Andreas Board of Medicine (SABM) laws, a skate park petition for the lot near Wicked Motors, taser laws, and additional support for DHS and the unhoused population of San Andreas. Norman specifically brought up cleaning up the area under the bridge to bring back the shelters that were in place during the winter months as an initiative he is passionate about.

Representative Wren made it clear that he is always available to help and is committed to listening to citizen’s concerns. “If they have an issue, call me,” he said. This kind of commitment and accessibility is always welcome by the people of San Andreas, who can expect to see continued improvements in communication under the leadership of the 7th Congress.

The 7th Congress of the State of San Andreas is off to a strong start, with the newly elected representatives rolling up their sleeves and getting to work already.

Update:
We incorrectly listed the San Andreas Bar Association (SABA) instead of the San Andreas Board of Medicine (SABM) under the goals of the 7th Congress wants to address this term. This has been corrected above.
