Los Santos, San Andreas – Tonight, Weazel News sat down with State Police Commissioner Thad Furtaw (SALP) and businessman Jericho Delmonta (SALP), leaders of the recently-formed Labor Party. To begin our conversation. Commissioner Furtaw cleared the air on recent confusion surrounding the party’s name, which was similar to several well-known parties in other countries that have different sets of values than the one in San Andreas. So, after much thought, they have officially renamed themselves the Liberty Party and will enter the upcoming election season under this banner.

The Liberty Party representatives shared a pair of announcements regarding their platform heading into the next election. Firstly, they feel that government regulations are stifling business growth on the South Side, objecting to the $250 licensing fees levied by the Department of Commerce & Labor (DoCL). The Liberty Party shared concerns that the neighborhood is struggling to launch successful businesses under the alleged burden of government payments. They plan to pursue remedies via both legislation and the private sector, with the stated goal of providing better support for the South Side business community.

The latter half of tonight’s main announcement concerned another ongoing incident with DoCL. Recently, a San Andreas Flight Authority (SAFA) employee allegedly tweeted something the business administration department took offense to. While Weazel News has not been able to confirm the contents of the alleged tweet, Commissioner Furtaw claimed that DoCL demanded the immediate termination of this employee, which was denied by SAFA management. In response, DoCL has allegedly refused to perform any further licensing for private aviation companies, in a reported attempt to put their boot on the neck of the aviation industry. While the Liberty Party has yet to speak with either SAFA or any commercial flight operations, they plan to do so this week and encourage any concerned members of the aviation industry to reach out to them.

To close the evening’s conversation, we spoke briefly on the Liberty Party’s plans for the upcoming general election. While they have no firm candidates to share with us just yet, Commissioner Furtaw stated there are several in mind to represent their party, and they may even hold a primary to select from among the many worthy candidates in consideration. For citizens who wish to contribute to the Liberty Party’s election efforts, they encourage all to reach out and volunteer for rallies, campaign events, and more. However, the leaders also stated that they have declined to seek DoCL licensing as a non-profit, and as such are barred from seeking monetary contributions from the public. As a coalition of businesspersons, the members of the Liberty Party plan to self-fund their election efforts instead of participating in the “Un-American” regulation of non-profit operations.

Weazel News will have more on this exclusive in the coming days as we gather more information on these efforts and bring you further coverage of the Liberty Party’s upcoming announcements.
