DEL PERRO (WZ) — As the month of June comes to a close, the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies have come together to reflect on the past and celebrate the future.
Los Santos Pride kicked off to a rocky start however, hundreds turned out for the first parade in Los Santos.
Starting at the Cockatoos Nightclub the Parade, which took place on the back of multiple Public Works tow trucks slowly rolled down Hawick Avenue towards the Del Perro Pier where the parade ended and the party began.
Music blasted through the night and drinks were available on behalf of a couple of vendors and the Cockatoos Nightclub. The event was also attended by Representative Paxton and some well known figures.
We spoke with some in attendance, here is what they had to say:
This is truly an amazing event, great companies and drinks, so much color!
Loving the music and loving the community spirit.
We also spoke with organiser Jeb Miller who also owns the Cockatoos Nightclub about the event and what it means for the community and for the Cockatoos Nightclub:
I was definitely impressed with the parade itself, this event brings people together, it’s an important month, it’s pride month, and we wanted to bring everyone together.
For the cockatoos nightclub we are serving drinks tonight and we are planning on fully opening in July. It’s going to be the first pride night club in Los Santos.
