Did You Miss the Debates?
It was only a debate between the two gubernatorial candidates: Becks Lawson/Maxine Finch and Damien Key/Gracie McCoy. There were no debates for the state representatives because all five of them are automatically elected. Weazel News was at the Vinewood Bowl to broadcast the debate for those of you who couldn’t attend in person. I heard it was slightly spicy, but I’d have to watch it to confirm.
Dive into the New Fun…
There’s a new activity available for those who like to scavenge for things. This time, it’s underwater. I went diving recently, and it was interesting. Since it’s a newer activity with much excitement, you might find a tiny bit of a crowd with boats and divers out in the water. As noted in the map posted on Y, make sure you go out there with at least a buddy. When I went, it was with Harlowe Greene from Tortuga Marine Conservation, and I felt relatively safe. Perhaps it would be a good idea to reach out to her or the rangers since they’re well experienced.

PolitiPoll Results are Here!
Last week, I shared that the PolitiPoll had just closed after being open for a couple of days. Well, the PolitiPoll results are here now. I’ve missed Harry Kennedy and his PolitiPolls. I’ve always enjoyed looking at the stats and understanding what the data means because I wouldn’t be able to figure any of the numbers out on my own. I’m honestly surprised at the governor results because I feel like they don’t align with what I’ve been seeing posted on Y. There’s been like little to no talk about the state representative candidates because, again, they’re all getting sworn in regardless of the public’s opinion. We’ll find out soon enough how the real results compare to the PolitiPoll results. Stay tuned!

Also, someone commented on the previous Scoops saying they were confused because they didn’t know where the PolitiPolls were posted. I’m here to tell you that a new one just dropped, and it’s only open for a limited amount of time if you want to fill it out.
Loading…Fight Out the Beef…
Southside Community Centre and Street Beefs teamed up yesterday night for Fight Night. The event was sponsored by Hourglass Publishing and catered by Bishop’s. My coworker and friend, Rhylee Finke, was down at the event since I couldn’t make it. She found the whole fight confusing because she didn’t understand how people were paired up. Overall, some guy named Dallas won. I’m not sure how the $50,000 cash prize was awarded amongst the fighters, like first, second, third, etc.

Thoughts on Gentrification…
Kate the Collector shared her opinion in the latest published opinion piece here at Weazel News. It covers the recently filled-up canal system in the Southside. I actually can’t believe it’s been two months since the canals got wet; I only know that because I wrote about it in volume 43. Anyway, it’s an interesting read, and it’s always good to learn about another person’s perspective because you might’ve not considered it before.

Stella’s Recommendation of the Week…
I’m not sure what else you’d expect me to recommend when the voting period is starting tomorrow. The ballots will be available at City Hall starting on Monday, January 8th at 8pm EST and ending on Friday, January 12th at 8pm EST. Vote early, vote late, but vote between the stated dates and times. If you miss out, you miss out. You won’t get your sticker.

Have a Stella Day and a hardcore night, San Andreas!
