Vinewood, Los Santos – Last night, a chaotic scene erupted as multiple explosions rocked Eclipse Medical Tower in Vinewood, causing a massive fire and displacing San Andreas Medical Services (SAMS). Witnesses at the scene reported a large explosion on the top floor at 9:40 pm EST and another large explosion in the basement garage several minutes later at roughly 9:47 pm EST. The building rumbled and shook at 10:13 pm EST. As of 11:36 pm EST, the fire department was still battling the fire.

Hospital staff issued several emergency alerts to let citizens of San Andreas know Eclipse Medical Tower was on bypass and anyone seeking medical attention should reroute to Sandy Shores Medical or Paleto Bay Medical until further notice. Citizens are to stay away from Eclipse Medical as authorities have assured the public the damage remained contained to the hospital building. No damage to nearby buildings has been reported.

SAMS was quick to shift staff and operations to Sandy Shores Medical in preparation to receive casualties. While medical personnel and law enforcement swiftly sprung into action several people were injured during the explosions and fire. ANGEL1, SAMS’ life flight helicopter, was seen making several life-saving trips to transport the most critical cases to Sandy Shores Medical while ambulances rushed back and forth handling all other cases.

Several alerts and tweets have been issued regarding the disaster. Governor Richard Starr tweeted:

“Anyone near Eclipse Medical will need to evacuate the area in case the building comes down. Dust in your lungs could be fatal considering the contents inside.”

Additionally, the hospital issued the following alerts throughout the situation:

“Eclipse is now on medical bypass, please go to Sandy Or Paleto for medical services,”

“Eclipse Hospital is on bypass until further notice. All injuries can be rerouted to Sandy Shores Medical”

“If you have not seen the news or Twitter, please be advised Eclipse Medical Center has been destroyed by fire and will be closed. We are working on finding a new hospital but for the moment please use Sandy and Paleto hospitals. Lifeflight will be redirecting to Sandy Medical for the duration. Thank you for your patience during this trying time.”

The exact details and cause of the explosions are currently unknown and under investigation. Rumors range from possible terrorism to maintenance gone horribly wrong. Law enforcement on scene assured Weazel News correspondents that statements providing more information are forthcoming.
