ROCKFORD HILLS, LOS SANTOS (WZL) – San Andreas is ramping up to hold its sixteenth (16th) regular election with the passing of House Resolution 434 by the legislature which set the Fall 2026 election period. With three (3) representative seats, and one (1) governor seat up for grabs, who will rise to the challenge? As with previous elections, ranked choice voting will be held to determine the next set of elected officials in San Andreas.

State Representatives are a vital cog in San Andreas, they are tasked with drafting state laws, voting on civil appointments – such as for new judges or confirming members of the executive cabinet. The Governor’s role is equally important, the governor has the power to sign bills, making them active in addition to filling appointments for various cabinet positions and working with those departments to help facilitate state operations.

State Representative and Gubernatorial registration for the Fall 2026 election opened on Monday June 1, 2026 and will close on Sunday June 7, 2026 at 2pm EST. All candidates must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, cannot have felony charges for the past three (3) months, and must not be currently incarcerated or on parole and must have waited one (1) month since release. See the Fall 2026 State Election Information announcement for further information.

Over the next few weeks, you will hear a lot about Ranked Choice Voting, in a typical voting system each voter chooses their preferred candidate, and the candidate with the most votes wins. With ranked choice voting, voters have the ability to select all candidates and rank them in their most favorable order. If your first candidate doesn’t receive enough votes, your vote goes onto the next candidate – this process continues until one candidate wins a majority of votes.

Ranked choice voting allows voters to have more confidence in their elected officials as the winners have a majority of the public’s confidence. Check out this video, and this video if you want to learn more about the rank choice voting process.

I’m constantly seeing posts about people wanting to ban adult adoption, maks absolutely no sense especially when there are far more important topics such as public safety. It seems like with every election someone vows to change this that or the other and also turns their focus into something that shouldn’t be in the light. You can talk to many citizens, i have. there’s is not enough noise being made with the fact people don’t feel safe. I constantly see officers blowing through red lights at moch 100 with little regard to those around them. i guess “intersection clearing” wasn’t in the “how to be cops for dummies 101” guidebook. I’ve nearly been killed by the ones who may and or may not have took an oath to proect and serve us. We should not be seeing cars being chased through the city at high speeds when the suspects are driving dangerously. They cops seem to ram suspects instead of getting clearence to pit and newsflash, i’m sorry but if you’re on a busy city street and you’re going high speeds, if i’m not mistaken you really shouldn’t pit or ram. why? because it causes increased danger to government property, pedestrians and other traffic. Air 1 is literally trained for situations like these, maybe they should be used more often.

Just the other day there was a massive shootout at the business which i am employed with, we know for a fact the police were around because they were previously at said business earlier. The shootout happened later and someone made a call blaming “Locals” i guess that serves as enough reason to not respond. infact no emergency services did. Really tells you the state of how much they care and or what priorities are.

Officer response times are also really high we’ve noticed and more than one person i’ve engaged with says the cop that they deal with is dismissive or rude, which i’ve seen myself with a stolen gun case. People are getting robbed, tortured, killed and more, many people don’t feel safe anymore. i remember back in the day when we had protests over the chief and maybe we should be doing that once more. I’d also really like to see how officers handle intense negotiations because whoever is training i feel hasn’t really followed through with how things should be according to state policy and or department operating procedures.

I also get being inclusive and allowing many things, however departments around the world often forbid wearing things like cat ears or playful halloween masks and facial piercings for a reason. they give an opportunity for criminals to cause potential life threatening issues. Who is to say during a scuffle a criminal can’t punch an officer in the nose and shove the piercing into their face, or perhaps hook one on their lip and rip it off? sound like fantasy? it’s really not and CAN happen and CAN introduce the body to foreign toxins. Things like this are banned around the world for a reason. to preserve officer professionalism and safety. A lot of you look like mascots in a PD uniform, i apologize but i can’t and won’t respect it.

This isn’t every officer out there, some are decent. There really needs to be some changes and someone ACTUALLY needs to look at departmental issues and concerns from the public. We aren’t making enough noise.
