First Weazel Music Awards Coming Soon!

Published

on

The State of San Andreas has no shortage of talent – And as we’ve seen so clearly, a lot of that talent is in the music industry. We here at Weazel want to help highlight and recognize that talent; That’s why we are officially announcing the Weazel Music Awards! With a large number of categories, there are opportunities for every artist to submit themselves for consideration! Below are the categories being presented this time around:

Best Music Video

A category dedicated to combining audio with visuals! This award will go to the best music video created in the city!

One submission per artist.

Best Vocal Performance in a Song

Some of you have some pipes! This category is dedicated to you! Instruments and/or mixing aside, this award will go to the song with the most impressive vocals!

One submission per artist.

Best Collaboration

Everybody loves a great collaboration between their favorite artists! This category is dedicated to songs that feature two or more different artists!

One submission per pair/group.

Best Producer

We can’t forget the people who make our favorite songs possible! This category is dedicated to the best mixed song, to highlight the amazing work producers do!

One submission per producer.

Best Rock Song

Rock is a genre that rocks San Andreas, and holds a special place in the hearts of people all over the world! This award will go to the best original rock song from a San Andreas artist!

One submission per artist.

Best Rock Artist

Not only do we wanna highlight the best rock song, but the best overall rock artist in the state! This award will take into account all of the artist’s songs!

Best Pop Song

With a genre as beloved as pop, it’s only right that we find the best original pop song in San Andreas!

One submission per artist.

Best Pop Artist

Same with rock, the best pop artist in San Andreas deserves recognition – And we wanna give it to them! Come forth, Princesses and Princes of Pop!

Best Rap Song

One of the most popular genres in San Andreas, the rap genre demands to be heard! Come at us with your best original rap tracks, and we’ll figure out which one wins the crown!

One submission per artist.

Best Rap Artist

The rap genre in San Andreas is full of extraordinary talent, but who will take the award in the first Weazel Music Awards?

Best Cover

A large number of artists in the state have done an amazing job at reimagining the songs of other artists, oftentimes even making pieces of art even better than the original! Those covers deserve recognition because we can’t get enough!

One submission per artist.

WILDCARD CATEGORY

Best Diss Track

Every WMAs, we will be choosing a new Wildcard Category – This time around, it will be the best diss track! This song can be from any genre!

We will be announcing the Wildcard Category for the next WMAs at the award ceremony!

One submission per artist.

Best Song

With all of these categories, containing truly outstanding music, one song will earn the prestigious award of Best Song of the First Weazel Music Awards.

One submission per artist.

Best Artist

One of the most prestigious categories in the Weazel Music Awards, only one artist can go home with the award for Best Artist. Who will win???

Now, you might be asking yourself: How can I submit myself or my work for consideration?!

To submit yourself or your work for consideration for the categories, there is a fee of $1,000 (per category) for submission, which will go towards producing the ceremony and more. You can either pay via invoice or in person with Artemis or Rhylee from Weazel!

The submission itself can be done via the form below! (Please fill it out more than once if you wish to be considered for more than one category).

Note: Submissions for consideration must be done by the artist/producer themselves. Not every submission is guaranteed a place as a final nominee – The $1,000 fee is required for submission whether final nominee status is achieved.

It is important to note that with how many amazing musicians there are in San Andreas, not every artist can be recognized this time around – But do not fret! The WMAs will happen every five (5) to six (6) months! And once an artist wins a particular category, they will not be able to submit themselves in that particular category for the next one (1) WMAs! They can still submit for other categories.

Another detail to note: While the First WMAs will be open to any and all song submissions from the artists of San Andreas, the Second WMAs will require that the songs be made after the First WMAs!

All submissions will be reviewed by our committee of judges, after which we will reach out to the final nominees – Then, a public announcement! Once we’ve made preparations, there will be an exclusive invite-only award ceremony to announce the victors; And an article will be released to the public afterwards to share the results out into the world!

Last but not least: We want to wish everyone the best of luck! We can’t wait to see the best of what you’re capable of!

The deadline for submissions is November 30th, 2022.
