Maxine Finch

Ah, campaigning–one of my favorite and least favorite aspects of every election. Like everyone else, Iโ€™m preparing to settle down and cast my ballot tonight hoping that my favorite candidate ends up in office. Most other candidates have been open and descriptive with their platforms. Although I have provided a summarized version of my plans for the office to both Useless News and Shout News, I want to elaborate on my ideas so that my intentions cannot be misunderstood. As I stated at the debate, I intend to finish the Legislative Overhaul, a project that my predecessors started and nearly finished back in the 8th Congress. Some of you may remember how that process for legislative review went. Still, for those who are unaware, the legislative overhaul was a massive project started by Former State Representative Becks Lawson, where legislators reviewed, merged, and repealed legislation to create a more precise and up-to-date library of bills. San Andreas Medical Services (SAMS) was one of the last departments meant to be reviewed under this process, and although some legislation was passed, a complete overhaul could not be accomplished. If elected, I will prioritize finalizing the necessary legislation to ensure SAMS is protected and can prosper. At the same time, once in office, I intend to reach out to the Department of Corrections (DOC) to inquire whether they need assistance with legislation or otherwise.ย  I believe it could benefit from a thorough review. While I work on both of these initiatives, I will also extend my hand to anyone needing legislation, as well as revisit a failed bill from the end of the 8th Congress, H.R. 304, Standards for Legislation Modification Time Frame, in the hopes of providing effective oversight to government officials.

If anyone has any questions or concerns regarding what I’ve written, please feel free to reach out to me.
