29th June Government Town Hall

Note: A full town hall recording can be found at the bottom of the page.

Throughout the town hall, legislative and executive branch updates were discussed, and questions from the public were addressed to the branches and departments. Government departments in attendance were LEOs (SASP, LSPD, BCSO), DOC, DOJ, and DHS.

Town Hall Updates:

Executive Branch: The Events Committee has been refilled. A 4th of July Weekend Event is currently planned. Governor Bright-Starr is discussing a Day of Memorial for the Police Departments. There are more things in the works, but Governor Bright-Starr is unable to comment on them until they are a bit more concrete. Governor Ella Bright-Starr shares that their phone is always on, and you can contact her anytime.

Legislative Branch: Various bills that are currently being reviewed and prepared.
There is a State Representative meeting on July 12th at 7:30 PM.
Cassie Kendrick has resigned, not sure if there will be a Special Election or otherwise as of yet.

SASP: No updates or comments.

LSPD: No updates or comments.

BCSO: No updates or comments.

DOC: No updates or comments.

DOJ: Courts will be closed July 3-5.

DHS: Two shelter spaces are currently open. Donation programs are in place and will soon be more regularly advertised. They are currently looking for starter vehicle donations. A few events are planned, but they are currently TBD.

SAPD: Not in attendance.
MCD: Not in attendance.
PW: Not in attendance.
SAFA: Not in attendance.
DOCL: Not in attendance.
SAFR: Not in attendance.
PDO: Not in attendance.
SAMS: Not in attendance.
