To Bill or Not to Bill…

A new bill was submitted this week, which made a lot of people on twitter upset. Annie wrote an article about it after posting a public survey, and the results are pretty clear, with the majority of people saying it shouldn’t pass. You can read it in the article with the great title. Feel free to leave a comment here or on Annie’s article to share your thoughts and feelings.

A Musical Battle…

With an educational twist, the Board of Education hosted a Battle of the Bands on Friday night for artists to showcase a song of their own that teaches the audience something. From songs about the birds and the bees to songs about gravity, there was something interesting to listen to for the judges and the audience. Audrey Storm, Jason Tanners, and The Winkler judged each performance with points and asked each artist questions about their performance. The scoring was close for the winner and runner-up with a one-point difference. Mykie Romance was the runner-up with her song, “Pangram.” Thiago Rubo was the winner with his song, “Penwings Have Knees.” Congratulations to all the performers who participated in the Battle of the Bands! I hope to hear these songs again.

An Exchanging of Words…

Jack Callow’s brought us another great installment of The Exchange, this time talking the controversial H.R. 336 – The Gang Related Violence Act of 2024 with State Rep Emilie Lillegard-Marino and her Assistant Jack Burton. This interview took place before the State Rep Meeting on the 11th so it’s worth reading the meeting notes published by the legislature for more information.

Stella’s Recommendation of the Week…

Tired of the current government? Well, I’ll have you know that we’re approaching election season once again, which always starts with registration. I’ve been a bit checked out during this latest term, but maybe not for you. So, if you feel like you have what it takes to make a change in the state, then this recommendation is for you.

If you’re interested in running for State Representative or Governor/ Lieutenant Governor, you have until May 19th to register. Once you’re registered, you can start campaigning. Between now and the start of voting, you have roughly two weeks to get yourself out there to convince the citizens of San Andreas to vote for you. Think you have what it takes for the Spring State Elections? Get moving!

Have a Stella Day and a hardcore night, San Andreas!
