LOS SANTOS (WZ) — Kash Keller was in court on Friday for a defamation case lodged by Cassandra Cohen and her counsel.

The lawsuit filed by Cassandra Cohen and her council went to trial today in the Alta Street Court. They allege that comments made by Representative Kash Keller at the representative debate last week were false and defamatory. A settlement was discussed however it came to nothing.

The court heard from Kash Keller about what he said in the debate. He argued that under his first amendment rights he can say what he said that day and that it was his personal belief. Lawyer Cole Gorden was intense in his questioning of Kash Keller and then moved to impeach the witness in questioning on the basis of “falsifying testimony.” Judge Buckley struck down this impeachment motion.

Messages from Twitter were also used as evidence, including an invitation to “celebrate” at the Vanilla Unicorn from one of the senior employees of the club.

Representative Keller also stated in court that previously, they were on good terms because the now representative Keller helped Ms. Cohen get to the hospital.

A 9 minute recess was called before closing statements.

In the closing statement, representatives for Ms. Cohen said that this case was about “perception, intention and action,” and that the reputation Ms. Cohen built while as an Assistant District Attorney was damaged by the Representatives comments.

Lawyers for Representative Keller affirmed that the evidence and testimony showed that Representative Keller spoke with opinion, not fact and that his statements didn’t violate Ms Cohen’s 5th amendment rights

Judge William Buckley was the presiding judge on this case and came to the following ruling: the statements made by Kash Keller at the debate did not satisfy the four criteria for defamation and therefor he did not defame Ms. Cohen.
