It’s been just over three (3) months since former Governor Jeremy Barbant announced the demilitarization of Fort Zancudo by the US federal government. After all that waiting for more information with little to show for it until now, President Viktor Dee Major issued a snarky, condescending press release washing his hands of the former military base to make way “for events, picnics, or whatever legally passes as culture” in the state of San Andreas.
President Major signed federal Executive Order 003 and Governor Tommy Merlin signed state Executive Order 116 making the transition of Fort Zancudo from federal to state control official and renaming the base to Zancudo Airfield. All military personnel and equipment will be relocated at the speed of government, and the site will now operate as a state-managed government facility with law enforcement having the authority to order citizens to clear the area if necessary. Additionally, licensed pilots may use the airfield in accordance with San Andreas Flight Authority (SAFA) laws and regulations. Zancudo Airfield will operate under the authority of the San Andreas Executive Branch and citizens who wish to host events there are directed to reach out to the Executive for further instructions.
This marks an exciting new chapter for the former military base and for the citizens of our great state of San Andreas. Only time will tell whether President Major’s brutal assessment and low expectations of the State of San Andreas are accurate. It’s time for each and every one of us to step up and prove him wrong.

Press Release: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Date
From the Office of the President
CONTACT:
Viktor Dee Major, President of the United States
To the Citizens of San Andreas –
After careful consideration and at the request of one Br. Gov. Jeremy, you can have Ft. Zancudo. All of it. Citizens may apply for permits from the state government to use Zancudo Airfield for events, picnics, or whatever legally passes as culture down there. Pilots may use the airfield under your SAFA regulations, assuming anyone reads those.
At this point, San Andreas has more illegal street races than school graduations, and if I had a dollar for every cult in Los Santos alone, I could fund three moon landings and a national barbeque. Let me note this is not an endorsement of the way things are going down there. In fact it’s clear San Andreas wants autonomy, so use this opportunity wisely. Turn Zancudo Airfield into something special. Or don’t. Honestly, I’ve set my expectations low and expect to be disappointed.
