Marking the first Clayton’s Corner report of the year, we head to Blaine County, where Brother/Governor Jeremy and Chief Justice Rajesh Gupta officially welcomed new leadership today as Theresa Indigo was sworn in to guide the county into a new era of authority, responsibility, and professionalism as the new Sheriff for the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).

The ceremony at BCSO headquarters marks a pivotal moment for the department’s future.
In a confident address following her oath, she outlined her goals for strengthening the department. Sheriff Indigo stated:

“I look forward to continuing to help and grow the BCSO with Captain Fernando Garcia.”

This transition also signaled the end of an era as Chris Stevens stepped down, concluding a four-year tenure with the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office. His departure was met with applause, heartfelt appreciation, and one boo from colleagues and government staff.
In his farewell remarks, Stevens joked:

“Hello— is this thing on? Thank you for the four years. I wish I could say a lot of it was fun… but a lot of it was not.”

He added how thrilled he was with how BCSO has been run in the past, noting that Indigo is well-suited to handle running and coordinating the department.

Indigo, with a lighthearted nod to their dynamic, said she’d especially miss their conversations: “mainly the arguing and butting heads,” with Stevens.

The event concluded with a standing ovation as local officials and BCSO personnel pledged their support for the department’s next chapter.

Stay tuned to Weazel News as we track Indigo’s first moves and what they mean for the future of law enforcement in Blaine County as well as our great state of San Andreas.
