Press Release
Court Proceeding Incident RE: 2024-CM-034

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DATE: February 13th, 2024
CONTACT: Kylian J. Clarkson, Chief Justice, San Andreas Judiciary, 8324270290

On February 12th, 2024, after the adjournment of 2024-CM-034 pending a verdict and sentencing for State of San Andreas vs. Joshua Evans, the defendant was shot within the lobby of the Occupation Avenue Courthouse.

Although the courts have always made sure to secure the inner courtrooms of the courthouse, the lobby has remained open to the public and unchecked much like the lobby of city hall. Citizens are free to come and go as they please to retrieve their licenses, or subject themselves to a search by PD as they queue up for court.

With this incident however, the judiciary has petitioned the State to install metal detectors and security cameras in the courthouse to discourage and prevent these types of incidents from happening in the future. The Court’s have also requested construction allowing an alternative entrance and exit for those in Custody.

We do not have an estimated time of installation of said security measure, however, rest assured that the judiciary takes this matter seriously.

For further information, please contact the Judiciary, State of San Andreas.

Dated this 13th day of February, 2024.
