Country Music star Rosie Oakridge announced her retirement today in a move that surprised everyone, including her own management.
Miss Oakridge has been on the road touring for most of 2022 and well into 2023, so the new of her retirement comes as even more of a surprise. Weazel News contacted Miss Oakridge directly by phone, and she had this to say:
“I know this news comes from right out of left field however I have been doing a lot of thinking while on the road this past year and I think it’s time to settle down a bit and re-focus.” When probed to expand on that, she explained: “I’ve had sort of a niche sound for a while now, I want to play with my style, see what else I can do. My current contract doesn’t allow for that so I’m going to break off on my own. I’ve also found some new responsibilities and being on the road all the time is hurting that.” She wouldn’t expound further on what those responsibilities are.
Rumors are already flooding the internet that she’s gotten married and is perhaps expecting a child. Those rumors were politely laughed off. “No, that’s definitely not the case,” she explained. “Still waiting for the right one for all that.”
Rosie’s farewell tour will cross the US and take a brief detour up into Canada, with one show in London where she’s quickly been growing a following. Weazel will follow up soon with show dates and locations.
