Public Works experienced unexpected delays over the weekend after their headquarters was stormed by police. Witnesses claim the raid on the building was brought on by police suspicions that Public Works had been hiding contraband in a secret basement under the building. Workers who had been unaware of the basement’s existence say they were confronted by the police who claimed they could be arrested for obstruction if the basement was accessed. At least two members of Public Works were arrested for trespassing on a crime scene during this incident and the Public Works HQ was shut down for over 24 hours as the premise was searched.
While Public Works HQ is now back and fully operational employees are frustrated over the handling of the situation and are worried over the delays the raid will bring. While the building was closed several Public Works services were unavailable, such as their air transport services and public works bear sales. Above all else though employees are worried about the impact the raid will have on the reputation of Public Works.
