DEL PERRO (WZ) — In what has been a turbulent week for the state, Representative Benning has been granted Bail and we now have confirmation on who our next Lt. Governor will be.

Benning on Bail

At almost 2am Bail was granted to Representative Benning for the amount of $10,000.

III. A defendant’s person may be searched at any time, upon determination of reasonable suspicion.
IV. It is a violation of bail for the defendant to be arrested, charged, or convicted of any murder in the first or second degree, treason, terroristic act while released on bail. Any crimes committed whilst out on bail shall result in double the maximum sentencing.
V. The defendant must attend their scheduled court date.
VI. Defendant may not be in contact with any of the witnesses to the case, or felons.
VII. Once per calendar week starting on the issuance of bail, law enforcement is permitted to conduct a random search of his properties.
VIII. Defendant shall check in with law enforcement every Saturday, up until the time of his trial.
IX. Failure to attend trial shall result in a default judgement and additional charges of contempt of court, failure to obey a lawful order, and obstruction of justice.

We still don’t have any word on whether the motion for Disqualification and Recusal, or the motion to dismiss have been answered.

Our new Lt. Governor

After the shocking resignation of Josh Ford, Governor Paxton was quick to find a replacement.

Governor Paxtons Chief of Staff, Karmen Strike, was nominated shortly after the resignation.

At 8:40pm (est) on the 10th we learned of the confirmation of the nomination. With fours affirming votes to one dissenting vote confirming Karmen Strike to be the next Lt. Governor of our state.

The vote was conducted electronically:

ConfirmationE. JacksonB. LawsonM. NashJ. NarkW. Benning
Lt. Governor

Weazel News believes that the Lt. Governor is yet to be sworn in, and we have had no word on when that will happen at this stage.

Some early criticisms have already come out about the Lt. Governor pick, alleging that it was a “spur of the moment decision” and “this nominee has no government experience” however these claims seem to have no substance or any backing as Karmen has been Chief of Staff for the Governor for some time.

Ms Strike previously worked for Weazel and CNT in different capacities and has attracted admiration from countless in the political field, with a political insider telling Weazel News. “She knows how to get the job done.” What is yet to be told is how Ms Strike will go in the position of Lt. Governor, and only time will tell.
