DEL PERRO (WZ) — In a significant statement, the Secretary of state has confirmed that Lt Governor Ford has resigned from his position.

The statement says:

At approximately 8pm this evening, we received a letter of resignation from our Lieutenant Governor of the State of San Andreas, Josh Ford. We, as a cabinet, are saddened to learn of his departure but want to thank him for his contribution and his service to this state.
Josh Ford began his tenure within our government by being elected into the Legislature on July 12, 2021. He served one term as a State Representative before joining forces with James Paxton in their run for Governor and Lieutenant Governor in the Fall Election. He has dutifully and faithfully served our state and the people who reside here, and we, as a cabinet, are saddened to see his departure from office. We wish him the best in his future endeavors and thank him for all of his hard work.
Mr. Paxton will be appointing a new Lieutenant Governor imminently, and an announcement will be made shortly.

The Legislature has released the following message:

Mr. Ford submitted his resignation tonight. We’d like to thank him for his service to the state and we will fill the vacancy.
