Legislation Watch

Four pieces of legislation have been voted on by the legislature in it’s 2nd Session. Here is the result:

Rep. Nark
Pieces of legislation that have been voted on have not been signed into law.

All bills have just been signed into law by Governor Paxton.

A new piece of legislation has been introduced by Representative Jackson.

H.R. 039 Government Salary and Pay Schedule Act of 2021.

  • This bill amends H.R. 003
  • It increases Hourly Positions pay by $10 except those of the highest grade in some departments
  • It decreases pay for the Governor and increases pay for the Lt. Governor
  • It institutes two new roles: 
    • Chief of Staff for the Office of the Governor; and
    • Assistant to a State Representative
  • A court clerks pay rate has been doubled 
  • There has been no vote on this piece of legislation
