The U.S. State Department issued the following statement regarding the violent conflict; “We believe this ongoing conflict will be mediated by the Mexican government. We will work effortlessly with international partners & agencies to ensure that such groups find no solace and refuge in the United States. We have assurances from the Mexican administration that this criminal organization and those responsible for the violence will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
