Did You Know…

We officially have 5 State Representatives again? With about a month left of the term, Caster Taylor and Silky Valentino were sworn in on Tuesday night at the Rockford Courthouse. While Jacobi from Weazel News wrote about this with a video recording of the swearing-in, The Daily Globe also has an article to give you additional info and photos.

Saved By The Bell…

I don’t know if there’s a bell or anything in the courtroom or wherever the State Representatives meet, but all four of the eligible representatives voted NAY on impeaching Tavlar FrostFell. State Representative Yuri Devlin put forth the impeachment bill at the start of this month, and the voting happened this week at an in-person meeting. Even though Devlin was the one that proposed it, he still voted against impeachment, so perhaps the bill itself was just a wake-up call for Tavlar. Who knows. My colleague and friend, Maxine Finch, may know since she’s writing an article about this.

Speaking of Politics…

Election season will soon be upon us once again. Are you prepared? Registration will be soon™, so if you’re planning to run, get ready. If you’re just chilling, get ready for all the campaigning throughout the city, from buses to Twitter ads and more. Just remember to vote when the voting period begins, which I will remind you all once we know.

Colorful Quirkiness

On Wednesday night, the Yellow Jack held an Unusual Car Show where people could show off their vehicles that may be considered “strange.” I think the definition of strange is subjective, so really any car could be entered into the car show, which was what happened. Out of the 25 vehicles that were entered, the judges only declared three as the winners of the show.

Coming in third place was Sabrina Mirrano with her purple Patriot, winning $1,500. In second place was Paco Vargas with his Faggio Mod with all the mirrors, earning him $2,750. Taking home $3,500 and the first place title was James Sax with the Futo GTX and the starry exhaust pipe. I enjoyed how colorful the event was and I hope people enjoyed it too.

Stella’s Recommendation of the Week…

Wanna stay cool? Why not go swimming? Not just normal swimming, you can go swimming with a whale when you go scuba diving. When I went, it was with Tortuga Marine Conservation, and I had a blast. They’re a non-profit here in San Andreas, and they do clean-up work as well as little deep dive trips. Go check them out!
