Rockford Hills, San Andreas — Governor Richard Starr has declared a so-called ‘sovereign citizen’ group known as the “Skinners” as Enemies of the State in a new executive order.

Late Saturday night, the Governor announced a new Executive Order declaring a group called the Skinners as an Enemy of the State. The group works on the sovereign citizen model of society with a declaration retrieved by Weazel News stating that they want to separate from the state, by declaring that they have “the right to deny our consent to interact or co-operate with de facto governments executives, agents, officers, bailiffs and/or grossly negligent judges.”

This executive order comes after Law Enforcement cleared out a campsite located in the Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness area. According to a court case statement police allege they attempted to clear out the site a day after a notice was issued saying the Skinners were illegally occupying the campsite and after members inside the camping grounds had erected barbed wire at the entrances and barricaded the front entrances with vehicles. Also according to police Rangers attempted negotiations to get the group to leave the area however it resulted in a gunfight where six officers were shot.

Weazel has been unable to independently verify the statement of facts by law enforcement.

Four people allegedly associated with the group were arrested by Law Enforcement and changed under Anti-Terrorism laws, Illegal Occupation laws and charged with aggravated attempted Murder. All four plead not guilty to the terrorism, illegal occupation and attempted murder charges, however one member pleaded guilty to possessing a class one firearm. ‘

The sovereign citizen movement in the United States has been around since the nation’s founding, and sometimes associated with religious attributes or cults, it’s also strongly associated with tax-avoidance and extreme anti-nationalism attitudes. In some cases the US Federal Government classifies categories of sovereign citizen as Domestic Terrorists’.

The executive Order has raised some questions amongst the legal community in the state with State Representative Oliver Hall filing a Judicial Review against the Executive Order, asking for a permanent injunction against the executives order. Hall argues that the executive order is not grounded in San Andreas law and is unconstitutional.

Weazel will have more analysis as this story unfolds.
