A fire began at Mission Row Police Department this evening, causing extensive damage to the building. The Los Santos Fire Department was quick to respond to the fire. In total, 2 engines and a utility were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters quickly made entry to the structure, but were quickly pushed out by the rapidly expanding fire. The fire continued to rage out of control for over an hour at which time firefighters were ordered to assume a defensive strategy due to structural integrity concerns.
Reports indicate there were no injuries from the fire, but the investigation as to the cause is ongoing. City officials announced that MRPD will be closed for the foreseeable future. Citizens were urged to utilize Sandy Springs PD or the State Trooper HQ if in need of police assistance.
