LOS SANTOS (WZ) —A polar blast is expected to slam the state from December 1st. The National Weather Service warning of Thundersnow, Blizzards and a decent amount of snowfall for the month of December.

Snow may occur before the 1st if the conditions are cold enough.

The weather forecast from the 30th is looking, very snow like:

Cold temperatures around freezing level is allowing the state to experience snow in massive amounts.

The snow is expected to arrive on the 1st of December and stick around beyond christmas. With the Colder temperatures it’s time to start thinking about getting your coats out of the wardrobe.

Watch out for those pesky heater prices also, depending on if your heater is electric or gas. Here are some tips from the Almanac on staying warm this Winter!

  1. Dress in Layers

Bundle up. Wear long underwear, sweaters, and even hats indoors. Remember the days of “sleeping caps”? They make sense! Yes, wear a cap or hat to keep your head warm. If you’re headed outside, cover your face with a scarf.

  1. Keep Your Feet Warm

I highly recommend “house slippers” indoors. I know that it sounds a bit old-fashioned, but having the rubber sole really makes a difference.

  1. Heat Up Your Bed

Don’t turn up the heat for the entire house. Use a (safe) electric blanket that turns itself off. An even cheaper and safer option may be a hot water bottle with a wool or fleece cover

  1. Harness the Sun

During the day, open the blinds and curtains on the south-facing windows—and let in the warming sunlight. At night, close the blinds and curtains to better insulate your home.

  1. Block Cold Drafts

Use blankets or something dence in order to stop the cold from seeping under your doors. Even if you are in an apartment building.

  1. Stay Active

Get your body moving. At the Almanac, we joke that “one log can heat a house.” Just run up the stairs with the log, throw it out the top window, and repeat three times. You’ll be warm!
