Chaos erupted shortly after the conclusion of the highly anticipated court case State of San Andreas v. Edbert Lowenthal as a bomb threat was received. A white box van carrying a masked man and a woman in a white dress arrived outside of the courthouse on Occupation Street where the sentencing of Edbert Lowenthal was taking place. Edbert Lowenthal, better known as the Apex Killer, had just been sentenced to death by firing squad for crimes including eleven counts of first-degree murder, aggravated hostage taking and torture. The front steps of the courthouse were evacuated as the masked man was found to have a bomb strapped to his neck.
Sources inside the courthouse claim Lowenthal stated responsibility for the threat, stating he had planned it as a final act. The police managed to remove the bomb from the man who was then treated by responding paramedics. The woman in the van was then surrounded by responding officers and taken into custody. The threat lasted roughly an hour and thankfully no one was injured. After the threat had passed Edbert Lowenthal was safely transported to Bolingbroke Penitentiary.
