LOS SANTOS (WZ) — Representatives from Gordon Law have lodged a $256,000 lawsuit against the LSPD for Malicious Prosecution and Abuse of Process.

Today the Los Santos Police Department is being sued for $256,000 by lawyers representing Cassandra Cohen for “Malicious Prosecution and Abuse of Process.”

Gordon Law said in a Media Release:

“It is our belief with this lawsuit that the Los Santos Police department filed charges against that would have been unfounded with proper investigation.”

The lawsuit stems from a high profile court case which alleged Ms. Cohen was found with 200 buds of “White Widow” marijuana. This case has now been dismissed without prejudice after the “Department of Justice no longer believed it has adequate evidence to proceed with these charges.”

The full media statement from Gordon Law is below:

“Gordon Law Offices has filed a lawsuit in the amount of $256,000 against the Los Santos Police Department on the grounds of Malicious Prosecution and Abuse of Process. It is our belief with this lawsuit that the Los Santos Police Department filed charges against that would have been unfounded with proper investigation. Yet the Los Santos Department refused to perform a proper investigation that would have otherwise proven Ms. Cohen’s Innocence. The Los Santos Police Department failed to perform their civic duties and in doing so filed Malicious charges against Ms. Cohen. They abused the investigation process, abused the charging and filing process, and in doing so greatly damaged Ms. Cohen’s character. This lawsuit should remind the citizens of this state that no one is above the law and the police department will be held accountable. Our offices plan on holding the LSPD accountable for their actions and making it right for Ms. Cohen who was so greatly affected. More information regarding the claims made can be found in the public court docket.”

We have yet to contact the Los Santos Police regarding this case for a comment.
