Paleto Bay, San Andreas – This Saturday, the public gathered at the Paleto Bay Sheriff’s precinct to witness the swearing in of Sheriff Lana Harte by Lieutenant Governor Karmen McKenzie. Previously Undersheriff through the terms of former Sheriffs Mitch Wheatkings and Chris Solace, Lana Harte’s dedication to the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has been long-recognized. Her name was previously floated by the Tod-McKenzie campaign as a replacement for now-Marshal Solace, who initially left to become Commissioner of the re-established San Andreas State Police (SASP) before joining the US Marshals Office (USMO).

When former governor James Paxton nominated Mitch Wheatkings as one of the final acts of his term, many among the public saw it as only a matter of time for Sheriff Harte, who wholeheartedly supported her colleague’s nomination. The patience and dedication has now paid off, with the opportunity now presenting itself in well-deserved fashion. Weazel News wishes Sheriff Harte the best in her new role, and we look forward to seeing how the department will be shaped by her leadership.
