Stella’s Scoops Volume 82

Oh, Hello There!

Oh boy! Has it been two months already? I accidentally took a month-long break to do who-knows-what, which then led to another. I traveled across the world and visited different countries. I petted some cows and met some dolphins. I rode some rollercoasters and enjoyed the view from the top of some Ferris wheels. Or maybe I took the time off unannounced to just be a couch potato and take a break. You will never know… I figured the news will continue to news and I can catch up when I get back. Today, I am back and I will try to catch up to the best of my abilities.

And now, I’ll summarize some news things that I found interesting.

With great patience come great things!

After being closed for almost two months to work through their backlog, the Department of Commerce and Labor reopened. DoCL announced that organizations can now apply to be licensed as a non-profit! What does it mean to be a non-profit? Well, it’s basically a charity, and your mission is to benefit the State of San Andreas in some way, whether that be environmental, educational, or something else. You can learn more about it by reading the guide to getting licensed to see if that’s something for you.

Useless News Renewed…

Useless News had its ending, except it wasn’t because they still exist. They made a pretty public announcement about their departure from the city in their article on Useless News back at in August, but now Bill Smith runs Useless News on a new website. Bill even wrote an article to let you all know that it’s not a coup. They’ve been pretty active, and you can see them driving around in their blue van chasing the action.

Oh, Snaps!

Summer sure flew by, and the July Snaps helped us remember some of those moments. On the other hand, August Snaps was disappointing, with very little submissions. When we look back on August, will we remember what happened? I always enjoy seeing what people have been up to. There are usually photos and photos of colors that pop because we really do live in a state of liveliness. So, hopefully, moving forward, there will be more photos again. It is October after all, so I’m expecting spooky photos!

Secretory of State is Sorry…

There was a public statement from the Secretary of State Jacob Wheeler apologizing for the state of affairs with the government. I honestly don’t remember where things left off in July, but he hosted a Secretary Smoke Out event at City Hall where people could blaze it with him or talk about issues. I wasn’t there, but I think that’s an exciting way to get people talking and get to know what the public is thinking while also giving them free weed products. I haven’t had the chance to attend any Town Halls or State Rep meetings in August or September, but hopefully, I will get back into it this month. Maybe then, I will understand what the comments in that article about Tommy Merlin and his salary mean.

Scary Cartel is Raided…

Apparently, there’s an international cartel called Los Desertores Cartel that has been operating here in Los Santos and was recently raided. I’ve been totally oblivious to this, so I didn’t even know there was a cartel in the state, but things have gone quiet so who knows if and when we may hear of them again. Luckily, Shout News covered the story, so you didn’t miss it. Stay safe out there!

Impeached At Last…

The Legislature voted 5-0 and now Ella Bright-Starr is finally convicted of impeachment charges, which you might think happened way earlier this year or something because all this political stuff started not in August, and yet it ended just shy of September. This had to do with an arrest from back in early July and then she later resigned for various reasons. There’s a different governor now, so I’m not too sure what it means to be impeached when she’s no longer in office. Anyway, the story has seemed to have run through all 9 of its lives, so keep an eye out on your favorite news sources to see if any updates come up.

About Time!

Literally. A month ago, the San Andreas Judiciary announced new court procedures to promote more efficient trials. Bench trials are limited to 1 hour, and criminal proceeding trials are limited to 2 hours and 15 minutes. Capital charge proceeding trials are limited to 3 hours and 15 minutes. Gone are the days when we would sit in the courtroom for 8 hours to get in on the latest hot gossip (criminal charge). Now we’ll have more time to touch grass!

Super Sad News…

The sparkles have flown off to Paris. The well loved Remy Fitzgerald has closed Remington’s Jewelry after three and a half years in Los Santos to move across the pond to Paris where she previously did an internship. Remy has been a vital individual in the community with her jewelry business, but she has also supported many people and businesses with the Fitzgerald Foundation. One example of her generosity was when she reverse robbed people at the Bishop Chicken’s Fried Fest in July of last year. I can’t remember what she gave people, but usually when you get robbed, you lose things, but Remy gives you things! Remy is so nice and I know her and Dante are going to have a great time in Paris with their cats. They’re going to be greatly missed and I look forward to their future visits whenever they happen.

Stella’s Recommendation of the Week…

Did you notice a new clothing store in the Del Perro area? From Prosperity Street Promenade, the clothing store in the Del Perro area is now located one block west on Bay City Avenue. It is also home to Original Clothing. I’m not too knowledgeable about the location itself, such as when or why it moved there, but it’s plastered with Original Clothing signage and designs. You’ll see mannequins with branded clothing as well as signs telling you to not touch them. It looks like there’s a space in the back for staff to do secret designer things, but I can only guess from looking through the window. From the outside, there’s also a billboard on top of the building, so you can easily spot it when driving by. I think it’s a cool space! Go check it out!

Have a Stella Day and a hardcore night, San Andreas!
