The Major Crimes Division issued a press release in the late evening hours of Saturday night, sharing the news of the La Mesa Police Station being bombed and destroyed earlier in the day. The news of this destruction comes a few weeks shy of San Andreas State Police (SASP) announced as a main law enforcement department alongside the Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) and Blaine County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) in HR 330. Alongside that announcement, the San Andreas State Police shared they were moving headquarters to the newly renovated Mission Row Police Station in Downtown Los Santos.

The former La Mesa Police Department left to rubble with Police caution tape advising not to cross.

At the time of the press release and publishing, MCD will not answer any further questions. Please use caution if you find yourself in the area, and as shared by MCD, do not enter La Mesa’s grounds. Stay tuned to Weazel News for updates on this developing story.

LA MESA PD DESTROYED
The Bombing and Destruction of La Mesa PD

LOS SANTOS, SA – On May 4th, 2024, Officers from the Major Crimes Division, Los Santos Police Department, and Blaine County Sheriff’s Office were made aware of a threat at La Mesa Police Department. Upon response, Law Enforcement were met with an armed individual who indicated explosive devices were present and the suspect was actively threatening a civilian. Shortly after, a police pursuit began and one civilian hostage was safely recovered.

The pursuit eventually led to a situation where the suspect fired upon officers, and in order to ensure the safety of the general public, the suspect was fired upon by Law Enforcement and eventually incapacitated.

The suspect was provided immediate medical attention and cleared by doctors, then transported to a Police Department.

During the time of the pursuit, an Explosive Ordinance Device trained officer began to attempt to disarm the explosive device set at La Mesa PD. With only seconds to respond, unfortunately, the officer was not successful. The area was cleared immediately for the safety of the public, and the device ignited, setting immediate fire to La Mesa PD and destroying the surrounding area.

Despite the best efforts of the San Andreas Fire and Rescue department, the fire quickly spread out of control – followed by multiple other explosions. Eventually, the fire was quelled, but not without causing a complete and total loss to La Mesa PD.

For the safety of the general public, it is requested that citizens do not enter the grounds of La Mesa PD, as the rubble could be dangerous. Due to this being an ongoing investigation, no questions will be answered at this time.
