FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, 12 September 2023
LEGISLATORS NOMINATED FOR THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH: Speaker of the Legislature, Treasurer of the Legislature, and Secretary of the Legislature

Rockford Hills (City Hall) – It has become a time-honored tradition for legislators to swiftly assemble after their inauguration, making their escape from the People of San Andreas to cast their votes for three critical roles within the Legislature: Speaker, Treasurer, and Secretary. Typically, this process unfolds at City Hall, but in a departure from the norm, the 8th Congress wasted no time and conducted their vote moments after the conclusion of the Inauguration on the Vinewood Bowl Stage on September 8th, 2023. Remarkably, all of these pivotal roles were filled unanimously. The following roles of the Legislature are as stated:

Representative Becks Lawson secured the role of Speaker of the Legislature.
Representative Jimmie Dimmick secured the role of Treasurer of the Legislature.
Representative Maxine Finch secured the role of Secretary of the Legislature.

Representative Lawson has already served two full terms under the San Andreas State Legislature, and she held the position of Secretary of the Legislature in the 3rd Congress and 4th Congress. In her role as Speaker of the House, she will be expected to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the San Andreas State Constitution: “Responsible for chairing Sessions of the Legislature, tabling Legislation submitted by members and calling votes on Legislation.”

“I’m excited to use my experience from three terms of legislative experience for the people of San Andreas in my new role as Speaker of the House. If anyone has input on a bill, I have an open door and open phone policy. I’m proud to continue my record of transparency, efficiency, and public service,” said Representative Becks Lawson.

Representative Jimmie Dimmick has served two terms in the San Andreas Legislature and was appointed as Treasurer in the 7th Congress. He will be expected to perform the responsibilities of the Treasurer as outlined in the San Andreas State Constitution: “Responsible for keeping the State Legislature informed of the financial health of the State of San Andreas, as well as ensuring monetary Laws are carried out.”

“I am looking forward to serving the citizens in this final term. I am enthused at being the State Treasurer once more, a role I occupied for a full term already. My duties are to ensure the fair and transparent use of the funds given to the various departments and I will hold them to a high standard when it comes to governmental spending. If you have any inquiries about budgets and spending, please do not hesitate to reach out,” said Representative Jimmie Dimmick.

Representative Maxine Finch is serving her first term in the San Andreas Legislature. Her role as Secretary of the Legislature requires her to execute the following responsibilities as stated in the San Andreas State Constitution: “Responsible for recording vote roll calls on Legislation, forwarding passed Bills to the Executive for approval, and ensuring that Sessions are properly documented. The Secretary of the Legislature is also responsible for communicating on behalf of the Legislature with the public and press.”

“I’m grateful that the People of San Andreas have placed their trust in me to represent them. I’m honored to serve as the Secretary of the Legislature, which allows me to maintain transparency and address questions on what is happening internally within the Legislative Branch. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or inquiries. Let’s work together to hold ourselves accountable,” said Representative Maxine Finch.

That’s all. More to come!
