BURTON, SAN ANDREAS (WZL) – On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, the state welcomed two new State Representatives for the remainder of the current Congress. Representatives Caster Taylor and Silky Valentino took office oaths with Justice Alfie Young at the Rockford Courthouse.
Caster Taylor has worked in the government for some time as Chief of Staff, Representative Assistant, and State Representative after William Benning resigned and was impeached from office in late 2021. Taylor is also known for his work with the Department of Commerce & Labor as a liaison between the department and the legislature. He has previously worked closely with political powerhouses such as State Representatives Endeavour Jackson, Mohn Nash, and Becks Lawson in the second and third congresses.
Some of his previous initiatives included working on business and employee law. He feels we are now at a vital point there and wants to see where the last representatives left off before adjusting his plans for the remainder of this Term. Caster previously ran for a seat within the legislature but was unsuccessful in his races during the fall of 2022 and spring of 2021.
Silky Valentino is serving as a state representative for the first time this Term. He currently owns and operates Brimstone Brewery in the Cypress Flats. After the ceremony, Weazel News caught up with Valentino, who mentioned,
“I’m excited to see what I can do for the state. I know I wasn’t voted in. However, I plan to make sure everyone has a voice.”
Silky Valentino
Valentino plans to see where the current state of the legislature is before proposing new ideas and establishing his agenda.

This Term has a little over one month left; Weazel News is eager to see what the representatives can accomplish with the time remaining.
