Friends were seen toasting and cheering, couples kissing, and joy was felt amongst the crowd. One gentleman, Dr. Lorren Anders, took the scenic opportunity to propose to his lovely girlfriend, Brianna McKnight. \u201cIt was quite adorable,\u201d Brianna told Weazel News, \u201cI wasn\u2019t expecting it.\u201d Dr. Anders told reporters that he had been planning the proposal for quite some time. \u201cI think she thought I was going to do it over the holidays, but I decided to go with New Year\u2019s\u201d. We wish the happy couple the best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite there being murmurs of a gerbil being turned loose, the majority of the event was very calm. In a statement to Weazel News, Merryweather Security Services\u2019 Eva Byrne said \u201cIt went very smoothly, the government put on a great event. We had a very multifaceted turnout, with very little issues on our end. It was a good event all around.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After most folks had gone home, gunshots were heard out front of the venue. Eyewitnesses at the scene stated that Schmidt Huxley had attempted to steal a police officer\u2019s motorcycle and got into a verbal argument with him. When things became violent, the officer fired shots at Huxley and he was hit a total of seven times. Huxley was rushed to Mount Zonah for medical treatment, and appears to have made a full recovery.
