Witches, nurses, prisoners, and the like wander the streets. But one challenge stands between you, today and Halloween. <strong>The Dept. 25 Original Song Challenge!<br><\/strong><br>What\u2019s the challenge?! Compose an original song to bring in the season with the theme of \u2018Silly Spooky\u2019. Do you have the guts to write a lighthearted, fun, spooky Halloween original?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">I know, I know, some may be thinking, \u201cbut I\u2019m not a musician\u201d, and that\u2019s okay. Shower singers are welcome! Comfortable with singing? All genres are welcome, too! How fun would it be to hear an upbeat pop song about being chased through the woods by an estranged person with a chainsaw? Or a sappy piano song about skeletons!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>So let\u2019s talk about the catches;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The one golden and most important rule for the challenge: <strong>no AI use!<\/strong> That means no AI for the lyrics, music, processing vocals, or literally any part of the process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">There will be <strong>no judging.<\/strong> It\u2019s not a contest or competition with a panel of judges; there is no first or last place; it\u2019s all for fun and the season!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">AND the best part Department 25 is offering: <strong>EVERYONE<\/strong> gets paid for their silly spooky song submission!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The <strong>DEADLINE:<\/strong> Submissions are due <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">October 31st, 2026<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Interested but not sure where to start? <strong>Madi at Department 25<\/strong> has your back! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Text her at<strong> (838) 387-0442 <\/strong>to connect with resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>*Drum Roll*<\/em><\/strong>  <strong>The Spooktacular Showcase!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Bring in the Halloween evening with Dept. 25 during the Silly Spooky Showcase at 7 PM EST.
