Rockford, Los Santos<\/em> – In the wake of Representative Blackthorne’s resignation<\/a>, Speaker of the Legislature Joanna Poole introduced H.R. 321 – A Resolution to Call a Special Election – March 2024<\/a> on the evening of Thursday, February 29, and has just passed with a unanimous vote from the Legislature. The resolution calls for a special election to fill the vacant State Rep seat. H.R. 321 as defined by the San Andreas Constitution. Article II, Section II, Subsection III clearly outlines this course of action when there is a vacant seat in the Legislature:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“If a Representative dies, resigns, or is removed from office during their term, their seat shall be considered vacant. If there is less than 2 months remaining in the regular term, the Governor may appoint a Citizen of the State of San Andreas that is eligible to serve in that seat. If there is greater than two (2) months remaining in the regular term, a Special Election shall be held to contest the seat democratically.”<\/em><\/p>San Andreas Constitution, Article II, Section II, Subsection III<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
