A eye witness to the explosion reported seeing several law enforcement officers “in goofy outfits and big cars across the canal” minutes before the explosion.

“I think i saw someone get launched too and they were tending to them down by the rubble?”

Citizens in the area immediately took to Y to share their reactions to the police presence and explosions on the popular social media app.

According to a press release issued by the San Andreas State Police Commissioner Barry Hill on Tuesday, April 29, law enforcement received an anonymous 911 call reporting an alleged explosive threat near a red and white smokestack in the Cypress Flats area. The caller specifically requested the bomb squad, prompting a SWAT Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team deployment and a full evacuation of the immediate area. For public safety the immediate area was evacuated and multiple explosive devices were found near the red and white smokestacks.

While EOD SWAT Officers were able to successfully disarm one of explosives, two others detonated. The resulting explosions caused the collapse of the large smokestack and severely injured one EOD SWAT Officer. The press release confirmed the injured officer was in stable condition and recovering when it was issued. Thankfully no other casualties were reported during the incident.

Private contractors were brought in to quickly rebuild the destroyed smokestack and fully restore operations for the affected businesses infrastructure. Stay tuned to Weazel News for updates on this developing story.
