Why…

In an op-ed piece written by a fishy guy (because he goes fishing a lot), Mr. Jack Callow shared many questions that really make you ponder. See if any of the questions resonate with you and ask yourself even more questions afterwards.

First Fall Hall of the Town…

Yowza! The 8th Congress had their first town hall on Wednesday night.

Quick highlights for you:

  • Flight school with SAFA – schedule to be announced
  • Some LEO applications are open or soon to be open
  • Liquor licenses are reopening for businesses
  • PDO is hiring soon
  • DoCL only have 12 employees, so be appreciative of the things they do

So Much Happened Yesterday…

Where do I even begin or include? Let me just bullet-list them, I guess.

Calhoun Pawn Grand Opening

The Calhoun family business grows. There’s now a Calhown Pawn in Chumash next to the bank. You’ve probably seen a lot of pawn items sold in Y and OnlyAds, but now there’s a storefront dedicated to it that isn’t Calhoun Convenience. They’re giving out free card packs for every purchase until the end of the month, so go check out what they have.

Equinox Rave

The Equinox Rave took place at the OWL Scout Camp, which is a whole vibe in itself. It was hosted by two MCs: Ravens MC and Scarlet Valkyries MC. They had food from Craft Bar and Eatery, Paleto Snackies, and Mojito Inn, as well as vendors from Der Keller, Starla’s Tarot Insights, and Delirium Emporium.

KOKORO’s Rockaholics Anonymous

KOKORO had their Rockaholics Anonymous event at their KOKORO Plaza. A big stage was set up with all pretty red and white lights to match the KOKORO theme. Jason Tanners, Jake Gallagher, Marcus Wylde, and DJ Fenrir performed on stage while attendees checked out vendors from ArCola, Euphoric Cannabis, Hawkins Hideout, Mirror Park Tavern, Serenade Supply Co, Vibe Out Record Store, and Sally’s. KOKORO was also selling their limited edition Aiko guitars. They were a hit, so they’re all sold out now.

Sounds Under the Sun

Musical sounds filled the yacht from the talented DJ Jackal, FOXI3, DJ Mad Rabbit, DJ Bmak, Jason Tanners, DJ Pawg, DJ C.L.U, Pretty Boi Paco, Baja Blast, F3NR1R, DJ Spooky, DJ Clutch, and DJ Omen. Attendees got to fill up their stomachs with food from Pearl’s Seafood.

Stella’s Recommendation of the Week…

Check out all the music this city has to offer. From listening to euphoric.fm to going to a Battle of the DJ’s event at Wicked Motors, there’s such a large array of genres and vibes out here that there’s something for everyone. Artists are frequently sharing their new songs on Y, so you never know when you’re going to discover a new song just from scrolling through yeets. It’s wild to think how much smaller the music industry was when I first moved here almost two years ago and now music is everywhere all the time. Go support these talented people!

Have a Stella Day and a hardcore night, San Andreas!
