A Free Spirit In A Modern World With Maggie Maple
For this issue of City Spotlight, I got the chance to get out of the concrete jungle (as the lovely Maple would say) and took a drive down to the Cassidy Trail. That’s where I planned to meet up with Maggie Maple, who goes by Maple. I got to have a great chat with her and learn more about how she is living life more unconventionally than most.
Life On The Road!
Once we found a perfect spot by the river, we started chatting about what brought Maple to San Andreas. She told me about growing up in Canada and the places she loved to spend time at, especially around big mountains and deep in the woods. Her free-spirited nature pushed her to see more of the world. “I travel a lot, I landed here after coming from Mexico,” she told me how beautiful it was there and about many other countries she visited. You could see by her smile when she spoke about how much she loved being in nature and seeing new places. Something about the Paleto area stole her heart, and she has stuck around since!
The Road Less Traveled
As an outdoor enthusiast, most of Maple’s time is spent outside enjoying the fresh air and watching the animals that freely wander. “I love camping, all types of off-roading, I own a dirtbike but mainly I drive this,” as she gestured to the boldly painted Seminole Frontier. “I call it the Hulk, or the She-Hulk, I switch it up depending on how I’m feeling.” It is a very distinct car that I am sure you will notice driving around! She added that the trail we were on is actually one of her favorites for hiking and that she also runs daily. She has plans to one day conquer Mount Chiliad, but that is one you build up to! We spoke more about camping and her favorite areas, too. I like to think I would enjoy camping, being a fan of nature myself, but after she mentioned how easy it is to get lost, plus the dangerous wild animals, I think it is safe to say I will wait to give that a go.
Maple Of All Trades
We spoke about her current jobs and the joy she gets from each. You have probably seen her working at Euphoric Cannabis, another passion she has. If you have not, you should pop over next time they are open, and you may even bump into Maple ‘The Weed Guru’ Herself! She also told me about working at Black Woods Saloon and her good work at Mind, Body, and Soul. She is a busy woman and still finds time to take new trails and walks, which she usually finds amazing views to take pictures of. “I like to take things slow and sometimes just stop. That’s where most of my best photography shots come from when I just wander the streets.”
Soul Searching In San Andreas
After speaking about her jobs and expressing how much she enjoyed each one, she was still searching for a purpose, her place in this big world… and she may have recently found it! “My main passion is just helping people.” Humanitarian at heart, she found a way to “fill her cup” and is working towards becoming a Counselor! She is training with SAMS and feels very fulfilled with her current path. Maple has such a laid-back, positive outlook on life, which is a perfect quality for that role. So whether it be a cold drink at the Black Woods Saloon, a tasty edible from Euphoric Cannabis, or a guided meditation down at Mind, Body, and Soul, Maple is the one to call.
Words Of Wisdom
“Everyone has one thing in common, we live and we die. Everything in between there is fluff, and we decide what we stuff… so make it worth it”
