Sergeant Brian Archer Murdered in Legion Square

The 3rd of August 2021 is a sad day for the citizens of San Andreas and especially the Los Santos Police Department. Sergeant Brian Archer was shot and killed in a brutal attack in Legion Square at approximately 23:30 EST. Sergeant Archer was off duty at the time. He leaves behind no blood relatives but all of the LSPD and BCSO will sorely miss the Sergeant, whom by all accounts was a credit to the badge.

At a press conference held on the 9th August 2021, Chief of Police Brandon Davis announced the sad news to reporters and some members of the public who had gathered in the press room at Mission Row Police Department. The chief, visibly upset by the tragic passing of one of his officers, then handed over to Captain George Kuznetsov of the Major Crimes division for further details.

Captain Kuznetsov went on to state that MCD led the investigation into Sergeant Archer’s murder, in cooperation with officers from LSPD and BCSO. Forensic evidence was gathered at the scene of the shooting and this led to the identification of a suspect. A search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s home and during a police raid Blaine Fontana was arrested and charged with second degree murder.

While in custody, Mr Fontana, with legal representation present, plead guilty to the charge of second degree murder. At a later sentencing hearing, Justice Elizabeth Williams sentenced Mr Fontana to life imprisonment. Mr Fontana is now serving out his life sentence at Bolingbroke Penitentiary.

The motive behind this brutal murder seems unclear, although Captain Kuznetsov did mention that Fontana had a history of violence aimed at law enforcement officers. It seems there was no personal connection to Archer however, although for the officer to be gunned down while in civilian clothing suggests perhaps there is more to this story than meets the eye. Weazel News will bring you any further updates as we get them.

Sergeant Brian Archer will be given a public funeral at some point this week, possibly toward the weekend. He will be sorely missed by all those who are sworn to protect the streets of Los Santos and the wider Blaine County.

Also present at the press conference were Detectives Lane Maximus and Sally Jenkins, both of the Major Crimes Division.
